Vida Energy Drink

BevNET Review: Here are some things you notice immediately about Vida: it’s clear, it’s very fizzy for an energy drink, and it doesn’t taste like caffeine. However, it's not all rosy for Vida. The aftertaste, which we'd compare to something of a banana flavor, leaves something to be desired. Then there's the can. It’s got little Keith Haring-derived stick figures against a black background, two of which serve no apparent purpose but one of which has a soccer ball. We're not sure what the design means -- or if it will appeal to the target demographic (Hispanic consumers). However, it's innocuous enough to be sold in almost any venue, and while the stick figures are colorful, they don't scream "energy". Overall, Vida is an average product with its main merit being the Spanish language packaging. Will this work? Given the limited number of competing products that have bilingual or Spanish packaging, it certainly has a chance.Reviewed on: 4/28/2006
