BevNET Review: Vinki is an all natural juice beverage made with apple cider vinegar that’s being positioned as a digestive health beverage. It’s made with a 40 percent juice blend of blueberry and pear juices, which imparts a straightforward and refreshing fruit flavor on the drink. The addition of apple cider vinegar definitely accentuates the tartness of the drink, while also adding a vinegar flavor and aroma to the product. As far as vinegar based drinks go, this is as good as it gets, with a flavor that still ultimately tastes like juice (although the vinegar flavor will take some getting used to). Since we first sampled this beverage, the label has been given a makeover, with a dark background being swapped out for a white one. It’s definitely a step forward for the brand, with the new design have a more modern and good for you feeling. Still, we’re not overly fond of the name “Vinki,” which rolls off your tongue in a way that doesn’t exactly whet the palate. Overall, it’s definitely an improved product, but it’s not totally there yet. Reviewed on: 1/15/2013

BevNET Review: The Pomegranate flavor of Vinki is an apple cider enhanced digestive drink that is made with 25 percent juice. As far as vinegar based beverages go (there are only a handful), this product is definitely up there in terms of flavor. While the aroma of the drink is definitely that of apple cider vinegar (and something that might be off putting for some), the flavor is, fortunately, very heavy on the pomegranate. It’s something that actually pairs quite nicely with apple cider vinegar, with both of the flavors have their distinctive “tang.” Beyond that, we really like the new look of the label. It feels like something that is going to provide both enjoyment and functionality, which is definitely an accurate way to describe this product. While we’re not super fond of the name Vinki, they’ve done a better job of highlighting the “vin” in the name to tie it back to the vinegar. Otherwise, the product definitely has a polished and appealing look that’s befitting of a premium drink like this one. Overall, apple cider based drinks are definitely still a niche product for the natural channel, but this is the best of the bunch. Reviewed on: 1/15/2013
