Product Type: Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 16.8oz glass & ceramic top
BevNET Review: Reed's has really outdone themselves on this beverage. This beverage was brewed and bottled in a 400-year old brewery in Bavaria and is of the highest quality. There are many flavors that are easily distinguishable in this beverage: anise, honey, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, licorice, vanilla, and wintergreen. Absolutely the most refreshing and flavorful root beer known to man. Finally, we must commend Reed's for putting this beverage in such a nice bottle. A heavy, 16.8oz brown glass bottle with a ceramic cork-style top. Truly a work of art. Hands-down the best root beer ever made!

I havent tried it yet...it was $7 so saving for 'special occasion' Virgils is great, but didnt expect it to be $7 at the sandwich shop, so better be the best beverage EVER or else...

I had thought I missed my chance with this, but either they're making it again, or our grocery's distributor found some. Either way, I got a few to stock up in case they disappear. The taste is complex, very much like a classic root beer, nothing too strange. It has a nice bite, licorice, and wintergreen flavors. I love the bottle. A+ on this one, guys, from a true root beer lover, A+.

It tastes even less like root beer than their regular root beer.

I thought Virgil's regular root-beer was the best - I was wrong, it's second best. The only downfall to this product is the price (I paid over $4 for a bottle). I assume that the price factor will keep many people from trying this superior beverage. I haven't tried this in a root-beer float (I only bought 1 bottle) but I suspect that it would make the best root-beer float imaginable. The taste has a creaminess that is simply unbelievable. Definitely give this one a try.

this just is NOT a good root beer, strange taste with very weird aftertaste, not root beer as it is suppose to be.

WOW

It does not get better than this. Outrageous taste to match the outrageous price of every bottle. Worth it, if you have the means.

virgil's special edition

by far the BEST root beer on the planet - since it's pricey, often around $4.50/bottle, although I can get it locally for $3.59, it is worthy of being a special occasion drink, especially if well-chilled my favorite non-premium brands are IBC, Barqs and Sioux City sarsparilla
