BevNET Review: Vita Coco’s latest entry is “Coconut Water with Acai & Pomegranate”, which is now available in a 17 oz. (500 ml) resealable Tetra Pak as well as the flagship 12 oz. Tetra Pak. Unlike many of the other acai and pomegranate flavored drinks that land on our desk, this one, which uses acai from Sambazon, is neither sickly sweet or enhanced with flavorings. Instead, the product has just a splash of acai (Sambazon brand) and pomegranate juices with no sugar added. These two flavors pair perfectly with the natural sweetness of coconut water, while the added tartness of the acai and pomegranate, as well as the light grit of the acai, make for a combination that’s extremely enjoyable and thirst quenching. On the outside, the product’s design is shared across both package formats, but the 17 oz. version adds a resealable top. The ability to reseal the package is huge for the portability and enjoyment of the product, plus it adds to the aesthetics and sportiness of the product. Otherwise, the design is straightforward, with images of a coconut, a pomegranate, and acai berries along the bottom with a purple accent color across the top and to color the text of the flavor name. It’s an appetite whetting design, with a Brazillian theme that helps reinforce the brands authenticity. Overall, this is simply the best coconut water drink we’ve ever had.
