Speaking strictly from a taste perspective, this is (at least in our adult opinion) the best tasting of the three flavors of Vita Coco Kids. There are two reasons behind that statement. First and foremost, the black cherry flavoring is quite accurate and clean, which makes it less obvious that it is from flavoring than the other varieties. Second, it’s a unique flavor pairing for the coconut water category and, as evidenced by this product, one that certainly has some promise. Beyond that, this product’s lower sugar and calorie profile (8g of sugars and 35 calories) definitely make it something that should be very marketable in this day and age of concerns over obesity and childhood diabetes. Plus, the 6 oz. wedge package is very attractive and functional, with a lot more room for visual design than a traditional drink box. Fortunately, Vita Coco has made good use of that space with a visual design that’s clean and not cluttered. It’s definitely something that does a nice job of using the Vita Coco brand without seeming too kitschy. Overall, a very well executed product from Vita Coco.
