BevNET Review: Naming a vitamin enhanced water after a color isn't something you see too often (or ever?), so we were pretty interested in trying this drink. The flavor is, as you might have guessed, lime, which is executed in a way that's different than other enhanced waters that we've sampled. Specifically, the sweetness is very light, allowing the herbal ingredients (ginseng and echnicea) to add their influences. Really, it's an enjoyable tasting product that bears many more similarities to water than competing products do. Packaging is attractive and polished looking, with an easy to read front panel. The back panel provides a nice explanation of the different functional ingredients in the drink, which is definitely a plus. One suggestion though: add the flavor to the front panel.Reviewed on: 8/28/2008

BevNET Review: Vital Action's Orange flavor is the only variety where color, name, and flavor are the same. That might be a good thing for this brand, giving the consumer and easier, more comfortable flavor to start with. Based on what's inside the bottle, we don't think they'll be disappointed with the drink's flavor, which has a very mellow, lightly sweetened orange flavor that's back with herbal, vitamin, and amino acid additives. And at 90 calories and 20g of sugar per bottle, this drink is definitely on the better end of the enhanced water category. Like the other varieties, we like the cleanliness of the package design, but we think that the manufacturer could articulate the functionality of the drink a bit better. BevNET Review: Pink is the strawberry flavor of the drink -- and strawberry flavoring is definitely what the drink tastes like. The added flavor seems to mask the functional ingredients more so than the citrus influenced flavors, which will certainly make this a good choice for some consumers. However, Pink, and all of the other Vital Action flavors, share the same functional ingredients. That seems like a big gamble for the brand -- and one that probably doesn't necessitate having seven SKUs that are differentiated only in color and flavor. Still, Pink is an enjoyable flavor, but after trying a few Vital Action flavors were left wanting choice in terms of functional ingredients.Reviewed on: 8/28/2008

BevNET Review: Looking at a product named "Red," we were expecting either a fruit punch or a cherry flavor. As soon as the liquid hit our palates, we knew that it was the latter. So, they've done a pretty good job creating a cherry flavor that's identifiable and enjoyable, complete with a light level of sweetness and some herbal notes to round it out. However, the brand has "Red", "Pink", and "Purple," which are all somewhat similar looking and tasting. By our guesstimates, this is going to create some confusion, especially in a brand that's 7 SKUs. Still, it's a very enjoyable flavor, but we have a tough time justifying all three "red hued" flavors. Reviewed on: 8/28/2008

BevNET Review: White, which is the Lemonade variety according to the key on the back panel, is the most pleasant tasting of the Vital Action lineup. The reason for this is that the low level of sweetness paired with lemon flavor, which is both easy to create with flavoring and does a good job masking the functional ingredients of the drink. Added ginseng, Echinacea, and amino acids give the drink its functional elements while a simple approach to design gives the drink a polished look. BevNET Review: The light flavor of "Yellow" made it somewhat hard for us to guess the flavor of this drink which, according to the back panel, is "tropical." While it's a pleasant flavor, neither the color or taste of the drink would have made that connection obvious. Otherwise, this flavor has the same herbal, vitamin, and amino acid enhanced formula as the other varieties of Vital Action Performance Water. BevNET Review: Purple is the grape flavor of Vital Action Performance Water. It's your standard fare grape flavoring based grape beverage, meaning that it tastes more like a candy flavor than actual grape juice. That being said, this was really our least favorite of the lineup. A bit more "sweet" would probably make it more drinkable, although this would also accentuate the grape flavoring.
