Original Green Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16 oz PET
BevNET Review: Using a sucralose-sweetened mixture of green tea that has been enhanced with vitamins, Vita-Tea’s Original Green Tea is a pretty enjoyable tasting product that also seems like a very timely entry. There’s a mellow green tea flavor to the mix, which is very easy to drink. The use of sucralose as the exclusive sweetener doesn’t seem ideal, but it doesn’t impact the overall drinkability of this product too much. In terms of vitamin content, they’ve added vitamin C and B vitamins, all of which are at modest levels. The formulation also includes a host of herbal ingredients, including Echinacea, ginseng, ginger extract, rosemary extract and more. Packaging is a stock 16.9 ounce bottle, which they’ve fully wrapped. The label is, in our opinion, something that could be improved upon, with a sterile feeling to the design (we’re not fond of the lines running across the package). Overall, we really like the concept, but cutting the sucralose and improving upon the design could take this drink to the next level. Reviewed on: 6/29/2011

Peach Tea

Product Type:Tea: Sweetened; Container: 16 oz PET
BevNET Review: Of the two Vita-Tea flavors that we sampled, we liked the Peach variety better. Specifically, the addition of peach flavoring helps to mask the aftertaste of the sucralose and also adds a nice secondary flavor to the mix. Otherwise, it tastes exactly like peach iced tea that can be found in several other brands. Functionally, it’s the same as the Original Green Tea, which means that it has both a host of herbal additives and vitamins, including vitamin C and B vitamins. The packaging, which again is a stock 16.9 ounce bottle, still feels a bit too sterile. Mainly, the lines that cut down the front of the package are distracting and don’t add anything. Working on visuals that both whet the appetite and create a point of connection for the consumer would ultimately help this brand the most. Overall, we like what’s inside the bottle, but we feel as though they could do more with the outside.Reviewed on: 6/29/2011
