Volt: Energizing Citrus Shock

BevNET Review: Using a 20 ounce bottle that looks and feels very much like what you'd expect from the "big guys," Volt is a modest effort to create an energy enhanced CSD. They've taken four of the most popular energy drink ingredients (guarana, ginseng, taurine, and caffeine) and paired it with an original tasting citrus flavor. We're not sure if it's the touch of orange juice or just a good choice of flavorings, but the product has a more smooth flavor that's quite enjoyable, with the only exception being the drink's slightly syrupy finish. Label is good, but as previously cited, feels like something made by a large CSD company and not an independent. Perhaps it's the generic sounding name or the label design, but we're on the fence as to whether a mainstream CSD entry with a touch of energy flare is the best of product's to launch right now. Still, for CSD drinkers who want something different, Volt is a solid entry.
