Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 12 fl. oz can (355 ml)
BevNET Review: Wild Buzz has actually managed to create an energy drink that tastes like a peach soda – it’s got a soft, peachy nose, a pleasant taste without the caffeine bitterness, and goes down without much struggle. That having been said, we think that the can just doesn't do this product justice. The Wild Buzz logo is large and centered, hiding the small peach image below. This being said, we found it somewhat difficult to distinguish between the different cans as you really have to look closely to tell which flavor is which. On the positive side, we think that Wild Buzz is really onto something with the peach flavor. A little more fine tuning to the package and this would be a much improved product. Until then, it's likely going to have to survive as a bargain-priced entry into the category.Reviewed on: 4/14/2005

+ Show Product ReviewOriginal Flavor

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 12 fl. oz can (355 ml)
BevNET Review: There’s not much here to differentiate this flavor from this brand’s citrus flavor except that it’s a shade closer to Red Bull in terms of flavor. It's noticeably sweet and, typical to many energy drinks, has a slight bitterness to the finish. The can is darker in color than the other three flavors which, in turn, doesn't catch the eye quite as much as the other metallic cans of the others. Overall, this is a decent entry into the energy drink category, but it feels as though it needs some refinement to have a chance of competing with anything other than price.Reviewed on: 4/14/2005

+ Show Product ReviewMango

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 12 fl. oz can (355 ml)
BevNET Review: There’s maybe a little bit of mango in the taste and scent of this soda-like brand, but basically, it’s just sweet, sweet, sweet. The look of this Wild Buzz entry is a translucent orange and it’s definitely a bit more carbonated than other energy drinks. Of the four made by the Wild Buzz brand, it’s also got the least noticeable caffeine aftertaste, but that doesn’t make up for the syrupy assault on your taste buds. The use of mango fruit flavor is unique to the category, but it could definitely use improvement. A good flavor in concept, but the execution is lacking a bit. Overall, this is a product that will appeal to a value-oriented consumer, but it won't win any awards for quality.Reviewed on: 4/14/2005

+ Show Product ReviewCitrus

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 12 fl. oz can (355 ml)
BevNET Review: The fellows at Wild Buzz have nearly cracked the DNA of Mountain Dew with this 12-oz. energy brew. While it does seem to have a somewhat bitter caffeine backwash in every other sip, the Citrus flavor is nevertheless a grade smoother and less syrupy than its fellow energy drink peers. And with the similarity to “The Dew,” there's definitely a market out there for a product with a taste like this. That is, of course, if Wild Buzz decides to pair its accessible taste with an accessible price. From the looks of the can, it sure seems like that’s their intent, because it’s a pretty basic-looking package. Whether that’s the point or not, we’re not sophisticated enough to tell, but we're willing to guess that this will mainly appeal to a value-minded consumer. It could be a much better product if it had a better looking package.Reviewed on: 4/14/2005
