BevNET Review: Having a lemonade flavor in the Wild Poppy lineup makes a lot of sense, but the execution of it needs some adjustment. The concept seems like a good one as mint is a great way to complement the flavor of lemon. However, there’s just too much of it, with a very minty flavor that quickly overwhelms the palate. Furthermore, the name “Peppermint Lemonade” is less appealing than “Mint Lemonade” and we’re not so sure that peppermint is the proper mint for this combination anyway. Hopefully, Wild Poppy will tweak this and make it better in future production runs -- we think it could definitely be a strong flavor for the brand. Reviewed on: 11/1/2011

BevNET Review: As far as ginger flavored beverages go, this one has a very intense ginger flavor, but isn’t super spicy the way ginger flavored drinks often are. The reason for this is the use of ginger juice, which has a smoother, more earthy flavor than ginger flavoring does. Plus, they’ve cut it with grapefruit juice, which complements the ginger flavor almost perfectly. Really, this is one of the best flavors of the Wild Poppy lineup. Visually, the product’s 10 oz. glass bottle catches the eye, with a brand that quickly exudes a high quality vibe. Again, the biggest issue for it is that it looks like a carbonated drink, but, on the other hand, it seems very smart that they didn’t go into a standard juice or tea bottle. If anything, we think that adding the word “juice” to the front panel would remedy this and maintain the product’s integrity. Nit picking aside, this is an exceptional product.Reviewed on: 11/1/2011

BevNET Review: Wild Poppy’s Peach Vanilla is a USDA Organic beverage that is made with 15 percent juice and featuring a very mellow, smooth flavor. While the fruit flavor is quite good, it’s the use of Madagascar vanilla (as opposed to simply vanilla flavoring) that gives the product its sophisticated and smooth flavor. The product isn’t very sweet, with 90 calories and 16 g of sugar per 10 oz. bottle. That’s not at all what we would have expected when we first saw the bottle (we also expected a carbonated drink). The design of the packaging has a familiar feel, but it also gives off the vibe of this being a carefully crafted product. However, we again feel like this product looks a bit too much like a carbonated drink. Perhaps adding the word “juice” to the front panel would help. Overall, an enjoyable and unique product. BevNET Review: While we fully accept that spicy flavored juice drinks aren’t for everyone, if its something that you are into, then Wild Poppy’s Blood Orange Chili beverage is a must-try. Made with a USDA Organic blend of water, blood orange juice, agave, and habanero pepper, this product is mildly sweetened but full of flavor. The first thing to hit your palate is the blood orange juice, which lacks the tartness found in drinks that use a higher concentration of this ingredient. The heat from the habanero pepper is there, but not overwhelming, although it does linger. On the packaging front, the 10 oz. clear glass bottle and clear label make for a very appetizing appearance as you can easily see the pinkish liquid inside. The label design goes for a hand crafted style, with a typewriter font and a large California flag on the back of the bottle. However, it looks like a product that should be carbonated -- which raises another point of whether this product might taste better if it were. Still, what they have created is something that’s very enjoyable and unique -- and it’s one of the few juice drinks that we’ve tried this year that truly has an adult oriented taste to it.
