BevNET Review: While they probably could have applied this brand to an energy shot years ago, releasing a World Series of Poker Energy Shot now definitely has some advantages. The biggest one being that this product can, thanks to the use of Cognizin, be positioned as both a focus and energy product. And what poker player doesn’t want to be both focused and energized? So, in that sense, they’ve used time to their advantage, rather than just slapping their brand on a me-too energy shot. What’s inside the 3 oz. container isn’t bad, with a pleasant fruity flavor that’s sweetened with sucralose. Functionally, the product contains some of the energy drink/shot staple ingredients, including taurine, amino acids, herbal ingredients, and caffeine, as well as the previously mentioned Cognizin citicoline, which is aimed at helping focus and mental alertness. On the outside, we like their effort to make the bottle look like a stack of poker chips, although it might look even better if there weren’t so much stuff on the front panel. In addition, it’s easier to open than many competing energy shots that have a wrap around the bottle and a safety seal on the inside (which this product does not). Overall, this (and the other three similarly tasting flavors) is a well executed and enjoyable product. Reviewed on: 8/9/2010
