Saucy Brew Works is a start up brewery that opened in July 2017 just west of breath-taking downtown Cleveland, OH. We operate a 20 hL 4 vessel BrauKon, automated CIP skid, 100 L yeast prop, SPX/ProBrew centrifuge, and 20 head/4 seamer rotary canning line. Our current cellar capacity is just over 8,000 bbls with room for up to 50,000 bbls. There’s a lot of technology so the candidate should be comfortable with what could be a steep learning curve. Willingness to learn, be creative and have fun are non-negotiable traits.   • Conducting all brewing operations 
  • Cellaring duties including fermentation management
  • Use of centrifuge and in-line carbonation
  • CIP of brewing and fermentation tanks and other equipment
  • Ensure the brewery is extremely clean and complies with food and occupational health and safety standards
  • Ingredient additions to beer post fermentation 
  • Logging of all brewing related notes from brew day through fermentation, finishing and packaging
  • Maintaining sanitary practices in all aspects of the production process
  • Preparation, filling, and transfer of beer from different types of spirit barrels
  • Assist with quality assurance activities and monitor progress of beers through measurements and data recording
  • Washing and filling kegs
  • CIP stainless steel draft lines
  • Conducting accurate inventories on a monthly basis
  • Working safely with dangerous cleaning chemicals on a daily basis
  • Moving packaged/kegged product to the cold room and stacking full kegs
  • Assisting with any other projects and essential work
  • Conducting preventive maintenance on all brewery equipment 
  • Reports to Director of Brewing Operations (Owner)
  • Work with team and direct brewery staff
  • Perform taste panels
  • Standard lab duties
  • Continually improve production process


  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a production brewery
  • Degree in Brewing Science or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven mechanical/electronics experience with beer production machinery
  • BrauKon experience a plus
  • Experience with automated brewery a plus
  • Proven ability to create Standard Operating Procedures
  • Project management and equipment installation experience
  • Depth of knowledge of beer production, storage and packaging/canning
  • Excellent record-keeping, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and strong personal knowledge of the microbrewery industry and market
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with Ekos software systems a plus
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 165 pounds
