Bonafide Provisions is on a mission to bring abundant wellness to all through their product lines. The VP of Sales will be strategically focused using analytics to manage, teach, coach, train, lead, and develop the Bonafide Provisions sales team and brand. Managing direct reports, brokers, distributors, and retailers within independent, regional and national chain store accounts across the assigned geography and trade channels. This position is responsible for maximizing the revenue and share-holder value of Bonafide Provisions brands, packages, and employee contributions in each account as measured by improvements in top-line volume, net sales, and market share growth; this will be accomplished by effectively executing the Bonafide Provisions brand plan for each customer while managing and cultivating the relationships of key decision makers within the account, brokers, and distributor networks.
Assume responsibilities and accountabilities for the overall market growth of Bonafide Provisions in the accounts assigned and those covered by direct reports.
Provide and implement strategic direction to support Bonafide Provisions sales plans and marketing initiatives to direct reports, retail customers across retail account universe; ensuring account plans address promotions, ads, distribution, availability enhancement, execution of price, package, and platform plans, and deliver account objectives within targeted investment guidelines.
Work in conjunction with all Bonafide Provisions team members, brokers, and distributors to maximize financial investment and volume.
Take ownership for Bonafide Provisions retail positioning in all accounts and establish Bonafide Provisions as “table captain” or “validator” for the categories that we participate in. Establish Bonafide Provisions and its employees as the bone broth experts through personal training and the continued development of direct reports.
Provide consistent pre/post analysis of accounts on-going performance by utilizing IRI and/or Spins syndicated data and broker/distributor sales reports and continue to improve Bonafide Provisions leadership position in the market.
Communicate in a timely and accurate manner, all trade plans to brokers, distributors, and Bonafide Provisions sales personnel.
Build positive customer relationships with all levels of assigned accounts and those of direct reports to include establishing effective call frequency with all buyers, brokers, and distributors.
Develop effective and cost efficient account management plan in order to gain support of the business plan from all involved persons including buyer, broker, and distributor.
Keep abreast of all competitive and other relevant information in each account and provide consistent feedback to Bonafide Provisions management.
Conduct regular business reviews and category analysis with all major customers to monitor brand performance, build meaningful relationships, re-affirm strategies to optimize Bonafide Provisions business and the value that is created for our customer.
Collaborate with customer, broker, and Bonafide Provisions field sales and marketing personnel to ensure plans are implemented and execution is consistent with expectations.
6-8 years of national account sales management experience within the CPG industry. Perishable brand experience a plus
6-8 years of Broker and/or Distributor DSD management experience
Minimum of 5 years of successfully managing high level sales people over all trade channels with excellent results
Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
Exceptional organizational, planning, system creation and implementation and follow-up skills
Solid understanding of requirements to deliver profitable business
Fact based selling using syndicated data sources such as IRI, Nielsen, or Spins
Proven analytical and category management skills including but not limited to post analysis of promotions, space management, and days of supply.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Understanding broker and distributor coordination, communication, and execution
Leader who thrives in a team atmosphere and is a solid motivator
Strategic planning, P&L management, and change management are all a plus.
Multi - level account penetration skills, and savvy business acumen
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) a must and must be VERY proficient in all, particularly Excel.
Excessive travel is necessary at times (may be 3 days per week), occasionally requiring air travel; must have a valid driver’s license
