Coca-Cola haven't released its minimalist label yet... but Ciel already did it, here's a pic before (the first one) and now (the second one), the label is now white and not translucent, it doesn't have background anymore, the "bulls eye" is smaller and the Ciel logo is now bigger...

and here's a 600 ml Coke bottle I got at Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, it's a very weird bottle.... why weird?, check the color of the plastic bottle...

The thumb nail pix look good.
I agree that retro sprite bottle is super cool.
IMO this retro look if far more appealing than the
"hyper modern" designs of the past few years.

I am more swayed by the "keep it simple" designs.

The retro bottle ROCKS. Coke should do that with the 8oz dimple glass bottles here in the US.

                thanks for sharing!

I like that Sprite Retro Too, awesome!

And for those who don't want to download that file (500K is pretty huge!) I copied it,and cropped, brightened, resized and compression-saved it.... ( only 17K in size ) ... and here it is, with a pic of a classic bottle for comparison:

Give me some cane sugar real Pepsi in a glass bottle... and not Throwback!

That's a good question. Just what is the age group/core age consumers of Sprite? From my prospective and IMO, the new design might bring back customers to the Sprite brand. I mean when I look at the retro design and hopefully old school "bumpy" green bottle, it makes me think about how much I enjoyed Sprite as kid. But that's just me. I get emotional over soda pop. LOL

At any rate IMO Sprite needs a major revamp. The latest design scheme IMO does not appeal to me. Going back to the retro design IMO is a big strep in the right direction. I think Coca Cola's attempt to use youth marketing (Hip Hop and NBA stars) has failed to build the brand.

Sprite's market share peaked at 6.8% in 1999 and has since slid to 5.7%.

of course, most of the major soda brands peaked around the same time and have also slid. the most consistent gainers are diet coke and mountain dew... both of which have added 1 whole percentage pt since 1995.

also of note, Dr Pepper passed Sprite in the Top Ten sodas last year... so maybe it had something to do with those weird... scary new ads. i found them disturbing and couldn't watch them. perhaps, others felt the same.

sprite's market share did grow during the early years of the NBA/Hip Hop advertising era though... but maybe the new-ness wore off.

WOW! interesting numbers! I didn't know that Sprite is going down, IMO the new american Sprite ads are good, and the "Sublymonal" word is cool, but maybe the rest of the people doesn't look at the same way... One question, Sprite has 6.8% of market share of all the soda market or just the lemon-lime segment?... Who's the leader right now? Sprite, Sierra Mist or 7UP?
