I've always wondered, does Big Lots also carry drinks that actually do well on the market? Do they sell Monster, Rockstar?
The point of big lots is not to make a profit. it is just a place to sell what they couldn't at other stores. It's a way to make a cheap buck(60 cents) on what was destined to be thrown away. And no big lots rarely carries big brand names.

I disagree. Retail stores that pay rent, pay salaries, and so fourth, must make
make profit on their goods or they will go out of business.
Big Lots is no different. Big Lots buys closes outs and odd lots at pennies on the dollar.
If they sell an ED at 60 cents they probably make 30 cents profit.

If it is at BIG LOTS....there is a reason it is there. Big Lots is not exactly a place you go to with your drink to build a brand.....it is usually the last place a drink goes to get a few remaining pennies back on investment. An ED retirement home if you will. The last place before the graveyard!

Trying one isn't a bad idea, but don't allow yourself to get all caught up in the drink because most likely it is a goner.
True, but I still think there are some good deals to be found there. I'd certainly pick up Xenergy at closeout if I end up trekking all the way out to Sterling/Loudon.

I think it's like shopping at Goodwill - there's probably a gem or two, but you have to search through a lot of dreck to find it.

An odd lot of merchandise or over stock does not necessarily mean that the product was discontinued.

Big Lots! sells product that is:
              Short code
              Discontinued
              Overproduced
Left over from a wholesaler/retailer that went bellyup
              Package change
and maybe salvageble merchandise from tractor trailer wrecks, pallet tipovers, forklift damage, etc.
stuff that is still usable but not in shape to be sold at Target, Kroger, Circle K, etc.

Cool, hit up my Big Lots today. I found 4 drinks by Everlast (yes, as in the sporting goods company), a canned chocolate energy milk shake, and a coffee-energy blend drink.

Finding 6 untried drinks in one place is huge by my current standards. Thanks again for the nice heads up!
