At Natural Products Expo East 2018 in Baltimore this week, the Austin, Tex.-based elixir maker will be reintroduced as Temple, as the company seeks to evolve from a turmeric-centric brand into a broader functional beverage company.
This week’s episode of Taste Radio features a wide-ranging conversation with Krave Jerky and Sonoma Brands founder Jon Sebastiani. Recorded at the 2017 Summer Fancy Food Show, Sebastiani delved into his background in the food and beverage industry as an heir to a legacy wine family and talked about what spurred him to strike out on his own with Krave.
Continuing to branch out from its signature elixir brand, Temple Turmeric expanded its lines of turmeric-based raw drinking vinegars and pure prana shots this month. The company debuted four new SKUs in New York last week, with plans to expand their distribution nationally by mid-spring.
Described as “fully-functional thirst-quenchers,” Temple Turmeric Super Lights are designed to attract a broader base of consumers as compared to those of the brand’s flagship line. The beverages launched as part of Kroger's “Taste of Tomorrow” program, a set of emerging beverages promoted within the grocer’s Fred Meyer and Ralph’s stores.
The new Super Blends each feature a modern twist on more traditional flavors, and are crafted with coconut milk and hemp milk to help maximize the full potential of the brand’s proprietary organic Hawaiian Oana Turmeric.
