Position Overview

In conjunction with the Vice President of Marketing and the Boxed Water Sales organization, work to develop the marketing mix designed to change shopper behavior in order to drive trial and purchase of the Boxed Water Is Better brand.  Collaborate with Sales and Consumer Marketing to integrate efforts, messaging and promotional calendars.  Leverage a deep strategic understanding of our customers’ needs to market the brand to and in the trade while creating tailored promotions for our large retail customers and developing and executing on all point of purchase activities.    

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Align with Sales organization to use deep understanding of our customers to develop trade marketing processes and plans
  • Strategically define and develop a marketing mix that drives trial and purchase of Boxed Water
  • Understand, target and influence behavior of identified shopper, consumer and trade groups
  • Integrate and leverage consumer/field marketing activities into trade/shopper strategy
  • Work with sales team to organize and execute tailored promotions for retail customers
  • Maintain consistent communication of marketing initiatives to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and execute all point of purchase materials and activities
  • Manage development and updates of marketing menu, training tools, sales assets and calendars
  • Identify and execute on Trade advertising strategy to continue to grow demand for the brand
  • Ensure that all activities ladder up to our brand promise: sustainability, design, better living
  • Create sustainable processes that enable efficient tracking and execution of multiple projects
  • Track exposure for the Boxed Water brand at our retail partners and with our DSD’s
  • Work with Regional and Territory sales teams to develop territory account plans
  • Calculate ROI on marketing initiatives and communicate effectiveness of our efforts
  • Manage relationships with external partners and agencies related to assigned responsibilities
  • Own the budget for assigned responsibilities ensuring that all commitments are funded

Desired Background and Skills

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Experience marketing a CPG brand required additional sales experience a plus
  • Experience with CPG retailer and/or distributor
  • Ability to develop and manage employees
  • Knowledge and experience in sales channels where Boxed Water operates
  • Knowledge and experience with early stage fast growth opportunities preferred
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to think outside of job scope to create integrated programs and marketing plans
  • Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders and teams
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities and objectives
  • Ability to travel 25-50%
