Fremont Brewing Company is hiring a full-time California Territory Manager. Territory Manager is an omnipotent role responsible for all facets of beer sales including distribution management, account level sales, and event planning and execution.  The ideal candidate will possess the required experience while motivated to develop their role within our small but rapidly expanding company. This position is based in Los Angeles and will require approximately 50% travel time.

Job Responsibilities/Expectation:

Distributor Relations

  • Work with Fremont Brewing leadership to set annual growth goals for specific distributors and territories
  • Plan and execute channel-specific placements within a distributors’ territory to meet annual growth and sales goals
  • Develop strong relationships with distributors and provide market support through yearly planning, work-withs, market support, and beer/brand education
  • Develop and implement market-specific distributor plans, in partnership with the Marketing Department, supporting of new product releases
  • Track, manage, and forecast all inventory and ordering needs, including the tracking of distributor depletion rates
  • Forecast seasonal beer release quantities for distributor, per market
  • Track distributor performance and adjust market plan as necessary
  • Manage POS
  • Educate distributor reps on all things Fremont: beer; culture; roll-outs; etc
  • Manage the processing of purchase orders, align distributor ordering timelines to product production and release schedules

State Wide Distribution

  • Manage all point of sales in specified distribution network
  • Visit an average of 8-10 accounts per day completing the following:
    • Develop new relationships, sample, and educate new accounts about Fremont’s beer
    • Identify and open new points of distribution
    • Maintain existing sales accounts
  • Monitor and manage code dates in market
  • Plan and execute special events, tastings, festivals, and beer dinners at accounts
  • Know the brands in all competing distributor books

Position Requirements

  • A passion for craft beer
  • A general persona of awesomeness
  • Ability to answer the question, “Why Does Beer Matter?”
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with craft beer sales
  • Strong understanding of beer distributor corporate structure and mechanics
  • Proven detail-orientation and database/inventory management proficiency
  • Financial acumen and problem-solving capacity
  • A demonstrated skillset in relationship management
  • Strong sense of humor and the ability to laugh at her/himself
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong computer skills (web-based email, Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel)
  • Valid drivers license and squeaky-clean driving record
  • The ability to lift heavy materials (up to 160 pounds)
  • Must be at least 21 years’ old

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of the brewing process
  • Invisibility or x-ray vision
  • A class 12 server’s permit
  • A class 13 “smoove operator” permit
  • Outgoing personality that loves working with all walks of life. Seriously.
  • Knowledge of draft systems…like, for beer.
