Down The Road Beer Co. made its first official mark on the Metro Boston Craft Beer market with the launch of its signature Pukwudgie Pale Ale in April, 2015. Our company brings a uniqueness to the Craft Beer market by bucking the trend of creating the next craziest innovation. We focus on crafting high quality FRESH beer, LOCALLY brewed in MA, and INSPIRED by traditional brewing techniques and styles. Our beer is currently sold throughout Eastern MA, including Cape Cod.

We are finally getting ready to open our shiny new taproom in Everett, MA!

POSITION TITLE: Taproom Manager

SUMMARY: This dynamic management-level position will supervise the tap room and its staff as well as working closely with marketing, events, and production staff. The position will work on the upkeep of the shop, tend the bar in our tap room, and make retail sales during open tap room hours. Furthermore, you will lead exciting tours for the public as well as plan and execute private/corporate events and functions. The tours are intended to educate patrons on DTR’s brewing and packaging process, the variety of quality products that our brewery produces, and on the craft beer industry in general.


TYPE: This is a full-time, exempt position (flexible schedule with evening and weekend hours.)


  • Supervising tap room staff

  • Strategic Tap Room planning and organization (inventory, sales and budgeting).

  • Completing weekly and monthly inventory tasks for production team

  • Communicating beer and merchandise needs for inventory

  • Maintaining Store general appearance including stocking shelves and light cleaning.

  • Conducting fun and energetic tours of the brewery

  • Planning and executing a variety of events

  • Become a Brand Ambassador by engaging customers, booking group events at the taproom

  • Develop a Taproom experience designed to increase beer sales

  • Become an expert at the different aspect and styles of DTR’s beer offerings to educate customers and staffers

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Maintaining Tasting Room equipment to include, clean draft lines etc.


  • Bar/Restaurant management experience (Previous brewery or craft beer experience preferred)

  • Knowledge and understanding of the local beer scene

  • Most of all, a Love for Craft Beer!


  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the public.

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multi task.

  • The ability to think on your feet and adapt to requests and changes.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Time management and schedule management
