Job Description Overview:

The E-Commerce Sales Manager’s objective is to grow e-commerce sales. Position requires coordination of e-commerce sales activities. Works with other departments within the company setting sales goals and forecasts, ensuring they are achieved. Cultivates and maintains favorable contacts with key and major e-commerce accounts. This position reports to the Vice President of International Sales.  

Additional Responsibilities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Retain existing business, develop new business, control trade spending while increasing market share, and improve year-over-year performance
  • Participate in regional and national events/tradeshows
  • Identify and cultivate new prospects
  • Implement new product placements as defined by marketing initiatives
  • Work in conjunction with Sales, IT and Marketing Departments to achieve and maintain desirable e-commerce presence
  • Maintain ongoing and regular contact with business partners by using appropriate communication toolsManage day to day operations and administration of key e-commerce accounts including Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) and 3P (Seller Central) marketplaces
  • Understand, evaluate, and report on the market position, pricing, strategy, marketing efforts and sales techniques of competing products in the marketplace – particularly the e-commerce marketplace
  • Manage e-commerce advertising budget. Refer requests for advertising beyond the scope of territory budget to VP of International Sales
  • Participate in sales training and meetings
  • Develop and execute travel plan that incorporates, whenever possible, the most efficient use of company resources
  • Work with Digital Marketing Manager on International sales goals
  • File weekly report and participate in weekly and monthly phone conferences
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:  

  • An excellent understanding of e-commerce and strategies for growing business specific to this marketplace
  • Excellent reporting skills that demonstrate strong knowledge of e-commerce position, pricing and strategy
  • Proven marketing abilities and sales techniques for e-commerce
  • Possess a competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability and experience selling on Amazon on the Amazon 3P Marketplace and Amazon Vendor Central
  • Understanding of data exchange methods. Ability to import and export data
  • Awareness of the workings of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
  • Experience with converting and resizing digital images and documents
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting
  • Web marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) knowledge
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent business management and developmental skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel on a frequent basis
  • Bachelor’s Degree required2 years minimum experience selling in Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) and 3P (Seller Central) marketplaces
  • 2 years of experience selling on Amazon
  • Sales, Marketing or Computer Science major preferred

Physical Demands: 

  • Position requires ability to sit for up to 2 hours at a time while performing data entry and computer keyboard usage.

Work Environment:

  • The primary environment for this position is in an office setting.  This position may occasionally spend a small amount of time within the production and warehouse areas of the facility.  There are no adverse issues in any of these locations.
