Tasting Room General Manager -- 200 seat full service tasting room for winery/brewery  Job Title:  General Manager

Summary Description:  The Tasting Room is located within a 5,000 acre private estate known as Mount Ida Reserve owned by a family office. The 10,000 sq ft facility will offer indoor seating for 200 along with substantial outdoor seating,  wine tastings from vineyards located on the estate as well as craft beers from its onsite brewery together with food pairings. The Tasting Room will join complimentary facilities including two 12,000 sq ft private event venues as well as surrounding planned communities.  We are looking for a multi-talented general manager to run and manage our Tasting Room.   We are looking for someone who can be the voice of the tasting room, the spark that people first see when they walk in the door, and the glue that holds the sales team together. General Manager: As a member of the management team, the General Manager is responsible for all Tasting Room operations, including the collaborative  development, implementation and management of Sales and Marketing initiatives, as well as activities directly related to Consumer Sales & Marketing profitability. Responsibilities also include managing Tasting Room staff and guest experiences to ensure exceptional customer service at all times.  You will train, mentor and motivate staff to successfully facilitate a seamless and helpful sales experience into every customer interaction which will increase club memberships, build customer and brand loyalty.  Responsible for creating the tasting room sales environment including marketing, ambiance, wine/beer presentation and complimentary product selection, sales techniques and customer interaction protocols. Must be able to respond to and solve problems and concerns that are raised by the staff or the customer.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about wine, can nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiasm. 

Special events: Responsible for coordinating our and managing and scheduling  VIP and off site pours and developing methods to evaluate the success of these events.  Works closely with the wine club/beer loyalty manager and staff to facilitate seamless customer experiences and environments as drivers for sales and building brand and customer loyalty.

You should be a fast learner who is comfortable multi-tasking in a consistently changing environment and a self-starter who is willing to identify a need and take action.  You should also possess a positive, can do attitude, and handle direct, concise and at times confidential communications (written and verbal) in a group environment. Work Schedule: 50 hrs per week W-Su 10am to close ( generally sunset )Ability to attend evening meetings once a month and work special events

Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 5 years related experience in hospitality management, including retail and people management, wine industry experience with premium wines essential.Bachelor’s degree preferred, certificates in wine industry training programs and or marketing experience a plus.Wine industry multi-channel direct-to-consumer, tasting room experience preferredMust have a clean DMV driving record and a valid driver’s license
