Job Description:  Area Sales Manager

We are looking to hire an Area Sales Manager to help us bring the FORTO brand to life in the Metro New York/New Jersey market by:

  • Working with Forto Distributors and Sub-Distributors to Secure Product Authorizations in local Key Accounts, Local Chains and Independents in all account types regardless of channel segment.
  • Management and Development of Distributor Sales Growth and Distribution Expansion via Engaging, Educating and Activating Market Execution with distributor/sub-distributor executive management, sales management and sales force.

Title:   Area Sales Manager

Reporting to:   Immediate Supervisor will be Region Sales Manager, East

                        National C-Store Sales Director to be involved in supervision during sign-up and launch phase of                                    distributor and sub-distributors in the Metro NY/NJ market.

Location:  Field Based – Metro New York / New Jersey

Experience: 3-5 years Sales Rep experience within food or beverage industry

Compensation: Market competitive salary and bonus plus full benefits paid by the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or Exceed Company Sales, Distribution and Trade Fund Management Goals and Objectives
  • Develop and Maintain Superior Customer Relationships
  • Gain Product Authorizations across all channels
  • Secure POG and/or Rack Placements
  • Develop and Execute Effective Retailer and Distributor Promotional Programs including DSR incentives
  • Manage Trade Funds
  • Insure Distributors / Sub-distributors have an average 30 days of Forto inventory on hand
  • Insure Distributors / Sub-distributors carry an adequate amount of merchandising inventoru on hand (racks, POS, etc)
  • Monthly Appointment Frequency with Sales Management to review distribution status and plan distribution expansion and sales growth programs.
  • Attend Weekly/Monthly Sales Team Meetings and present appropriate Forto Sales, Distribution, Product information
  • Work in Market with or without Distributor Rep to Open New Accounts – with DSR 3x per week, otherwise on own
  • Execute Local Key Account Retailer Promotions - TPR’s. Ad Features and other promotional programs as appropriate
  • Possess ability to analyze and interpret sales and distribution reports, communicate deficiencies to Distributor management and provide solutions that will improve results
  • Conduct periodic Business Reviews with Distributor Executive and Sales Management – quarterly, 1H/2H
  • Attend / Work Trade Shows
  • Timely management of administrative tasks
  • Work with Customer Service on customer order management and customer logistics.
  • Work with Accounting on customer payments and deduction resolution.
  • Schedule Field Marketing Promotional Events – Samplings, etc.
  • Secure Sub-Distributors to build distribution and increase sales
  • Gain Sub-distributor new business via programming, sales meeting attendance and regular DSR work-withs
  • Work with Broker as appropriate to gain new business, expand distribution and increase sales.
  • Be a good listener with ability to determine customer wants/needs, match company offerings with customer wants/needs, develop customized solutions to meet customer needs, including creative out of the box ideas that will move the business forward
