The Warehouse Manager at Fort Point is responsible for the movement of materials and products within our distribution system and the maintenance of our facilities and equipment. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for multiple functions across the organization’s logistics department, namely directing distribution strategy, managing inventory, and overseeing warehouse management to support the rapid expansion of our craft beer company. This role is specific to our Northern California operations and will maintain our high standard of efficient distribution, while also working to streamline and grow existing processes on behalf of the brewery.

Beyond managing a complex distribution network, the Logistics Manager will also be directly responsible for managing (and bonding) with a team of specialists at any facility that they are assigned to within their region. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player, an excellent communicator, and a forward thinking professional, driven to improve any process.


PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Distribution

  • Oversee the planning and execution of order fulfillment of beer, merchandise and equipment
    • Direct warehouse functions and daily pick/pack/ship transportation schedule ?
    • Work with Logistics Coordinators to build and manage daily delivery routes for drivers and fleet of company vehicles
    • Monitor order fulfillment and analyze optimal shipment methods, to maximize efficiency and support operations ?
    • Manage team of logistics professionals across multiple locations ?
    • Consistently meet quality, health and safety assurance standards for distribution team ?
  • Maintain assets related to distribution and logistics
    • Work alongside Lead Driver to execute and coordinate a maintenance plan for fleet
    • Additional equipment including but not limited to: Transfer Fleet, Warehousing Fleet (Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and Warehouse tools?

Shipping and Receiving ?

  • Direct all regional shipping & receiving on behalf of the brewery
    • Maintain & track raw materials for order fulfillment? {Nor. Cal. Only}
    • Manage inbound shipments and receipt of all raw materials? {Nor. Cal. Only}
    • Organize production and office supply receivables as needed?
    • Track and continuously improve ongoing vendor relations and procurementneeds
  • Schedule and maintain reliable long distance freight shipment relationships between various facilities (production, distribution points, 3PL, large retail partners, or auxiliary storage facilities)

Inventory

  • Work with Head of Logistics to schedule and standardize comprehensive inventory control structure
  • Integrate inventory control system into storage and warehouse management ?
  • Update inventory needs and execute warehouse transfers according to cross departmental directives ?
  • Continuously ideate and improve inventory processes to accommodate changing needs and new facilities ?

Facilities Management ?

  • Stage and delegate maintenance of facilities, including but not limited to:
    • Heavy equipment (Forklift, pallet jack, picking equipment maintenance) ?
    • Warehouse equipment (storage units, tool bench, staff facilities)
    • Office equipment (technology, records and space management)
  • Supervise process and standards for transferring raw ingredients, packaging, and other materials from other warehouse spaces {Nor. Cal. Only}
  • With Head of Logistics, develop and enforce workflow floor plan for all Fort Point affiliated spaces

SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide training or regular Draft Technician support to end customers
  • Train & educate groups of other department staff on Logistics initiatives

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, processes and systems?
  • Experience to managing complex projects and working independently to achieve goals?
  • Experience managing people
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field
