Title: CHARLOTTE, NC BREWERY SEEKING HEAD OF BREWERY OPERATIONS
Our 10,500 square-foot facility will house a taproom, 6,500 sq-ft of brew house space (15 bbl system), and an outdoor patio with approximately 2,300 sq-ft of additional seating area. We are located near downtown in an established and walkable neighborhood, surrounded by office, retail, and single and multi-family residential developments.
We’re looking for a strong team player who has had substantial previous experience in a production brewery, can communicate effectively and efficiently, is mechanically adept, is technically proficient in brewing procedures, is boldly creative, and has a passion for this industry. Responsible for all brewing, scheduling, inventory, cellaring, packaging and QA/QC.
Maintain inventory and ordering of raw materials and chemicals required to produce sufficient beer for the Taproom/restaurant and any outside sales (will most likely be a 70/30 split between the two)
Set the production and personnel schedules based on needs and sales projections
Perform and schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize brewery down time
Hire/train junior production employees (including safety training)
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized facility
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain all brewery equipment including, but not limited to, brew system, fermenters, keg washer, chemical storage, lab equipment, grain milling equipment.
Consult with contractors during final construction of the brewhouse.
Consult and assist with glycol draft system equipment selection and supervision of installation.
Consulting with owners on initial batch releases and brewing smaller batches on pilot system before brew house is delivered.
Assisting management team with necessary events and social media efforts.
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a production brewery
Proven mechanical/electronics experience with beer production machinery
Project management and equipment installation experience
Depth of knowledge of beer production, storage and packaging
Excellent record keeping, attention to detail and communication skills
Enthusiasm and strong personal knowledge of the microbrewery industry and market
Thorough knowledge of MS Office
Experience with Ekos software systems or Orchestrated Beer
Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
Ability to multi-task and be flexible
Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 65 pounds
