Brewing Shift Lead
New Realm Brewing Co. seeks a Brewing Shift Lead for our Atlanta location, working directly under Head Brewer Tyler Downey and Brewmaster Mitch Steele. Our setup includes a fully-automated, 20-bbl Krones/Steinecker 4-vessel brewhouse and a 5-bbl Ss Brewtech pilot system. (The latter will provide the curious brewer with a fantastic opportunity for small-batch experimentation.) As a brewery we are primarily brewing for packaging & distribution, although some beer is destined for our 400-seat restaurant and special events facility directly adjacent to the Eastside BeltLine.
This is an afternoon shift position for a hands-on brewer with experience in leading teams and extensive experience running automated brewhouses and beer centrifuges. Candidates should have 5-10 years hands on brewing experience, experience with planning, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance, plc troubleshooting, and thorough knowledge of brewing quality parameters and key critical control points in the brewing process.
The position includes access to an industry-leading benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. We are perfection-seeking in all that we do, but we adhere to a “work-hard, play-hard” ethos and are committed to work-life balance.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
· Some brewing education
· 5-10 years experience working in a craft brewery, including packaging and cellar work
· Some leadership experience
· Good mechanical skills
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Some familiarity with classic and newer beer styles
· Strong commitment to continuous improvement
· A good sense of humor
· A love of IPA and other hoppy beers
