East Rock Brewing Company is a family owned start-up brewery located in the East Rock neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut.  At East Rock, we use time-honored methods and imported ingredients to produce pure and crisp German-inspired beer.  Painfully slow to make but a pleasure to drink, our beers undergo a prolonged and labor-intensive fermentation, resulting in an uncommon depth of flavor and natural effervescence.  Fresher than an import and more approachable than a typical craft, our beers are designed for drinkability, but never at the expense of taste.  It’s the ultimate everyday companion and the perfect reward for an honest day’s work.

East Rock prides itself on its positive company culture, where team members are valued for their efforts, enthusiasm, and commitment to quality and continual improvement.  We anticipate opening our 26K square foot facility including a family friendly 3K square foot beer hall in mid-2018 with self-distribution of our three year-round brands beginning shortly thereafter.


East Rock is looking for a sales representative who has the hunger and drive to build a distinctly Connecticut brand from the ground up.  As a member of the founding sales team you will be responsible for growing the company’s three year-round brands by opening key accounts, increasing availability and visibility of our products, building and maintaining strong relationships, and educating the public at trainings, special events, and tastings.  Extensive travel within New Haven county and surrounding towns and long working hours, including nights and weekends, will be the norm for the first year.  The upside includes a fun and rewarding job with a generous bonus package and tremendous potential for growth.


· Strategically open new on-premise (bar/restaurant) and off-premise (liquor/grocery) accounts

· Develop strong relationships with buyers and key personnel at accounts in your territory

· Maintain availability of East Rock beer at accounts by ensuring adequate inventory levels 

· Place orders and partner with the East Rock production team to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly, delivered on time, and to our customer’s satisfaction

· Increase availability of East Rock beer by promoting additional brands in the company’s portfolio

· Increase visibility of East Rock beer by resetting coolers and displaying point of sale items 

· Establish, maintain and execute weekly planner of goals and account calls

· Identify key accounts that are not currently penetrated and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts 

· Schedule and execute a promotional calendar of events with key retailers including staff trainings, beer tastings, beer dinners, and other evening promotions 

· Prepare and submit administrative and financial reports to management 

· Prepare and submit daily progress reports to management 

· Understand, embrace, and help develop the East Rock brand and culture and communicate its message to buyers, key retail personnel, and end consumers


· Hunger and drive to grow a small Connecticut start-up brewery from the ground up 

· Passion for great beer

· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

· Ability to travel extensively throughout New Haven County

· Live in or near New Haven County

· 2-3 years of demonstrated success in alcohol beverage related sales

· Personable and confident 

· Valid driver’s license in good standing 

· Ability to lift and move 30-35 lb. cases of beer frequently and maneuver 165 lb. kegs on occasion

· Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to display products and point of sale materials

· Proficiency in MS Office Suite 

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
