Additionally, you’ll be expected to have a strong knowledge of the food industry, to be on top of the latest food trends, and to have a sense of curiosity and passion for product development.   • Provide technical culinary expertise in assigned projects and verticals
  • Participate in all stages of product development, from ideation to manufacturing
  • Meticulously record all tests and all pertinent analytical information
  • Monitor and research culinary trends, manufacturing processes, and innovations on an ongoing basis to continue to bring new ideas to the team
  • Ensure that nutrition guard rails and other criteria are maintained in the development process
  • Calculate costing of ingredients such that products are developed within targeted cost range
  • Lead and participate in product tastings and plant trials of new products
  • Assist in the production of product samples for internal and external requests 
  • Continuously help set the gold standard for culinary innovation, and mentor more junior culinary team members
  • Manage individual project timelines and deliverables, and support wider project direction and deadlines
  • Ensure the workbench and testing area is orderly, organized and clean for efficient use
  • Perform other administrative or project tasks as needed


For this role, we’re seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Four to five years of experience in the field after completion of a culinary or other related degree program, or a combination of education and relevant culinary experience
  • Experience with product development and R&D in CPG, food service and/or restaurant environments

  • A natural sense of inquisitiveness and curiosity
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting - you do what you say you will do
  • Exceptional organizational and project-management skills 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to stringent food safety standards, including an up-to-date Food Handlers card/certification (ServSafe)
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a cross-functional team, including adherence to core values within a dynamic company culture 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment, and to balance changing priorities
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned work and projects with general supervision
  • Proficiency in the use of computer systems and software (Apple/Mac)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (both domestic and international)
