Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager will drive a wide range of sale growth initiatives to fully leverage our distinct competitive advantages and build upon our strong early momentum. The Regional Sales Manager will be a creative, hands-on professional determined to shape, grow and steer healthy sales and merchandising programs across retail channels and geographic regions. Responsibilities will include managing and growing a select set of current customers and distributors, securing new business at targeted prospective accounts and maximizing the contributions of our broker partners. The Regional Sales Manager will also prepare sales forecasts and account plans, estimate and manage trade marketing programs and help identify fruitful investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic opportunities to expand sales across the natural, grocery and specialty channels
  • Maximize velocity and sku count at current retail partners
  • Leverage our broker and distributor partnerships to reach more of the operators they serve
  • Provide training, direction, performance expectations and support to our broker partners to surpass sales targets, achieve quality distribution, and execute promotional and merchandising plans
  • Collaboratively build annual distribution and trade planners for retail customers
  • Utilize existing resources to assess key account and distributor performance through timely sales analysis and develop specific actions to close gaps and optimize results
  • Conduct store audits with broker management and/or field sales reps to ensure merchandising standards and promotional programming are being executed according to plan, to identify new opportunities and to evaluate competitive environment
  • Prepare and conduct business reviews with key customers to highlight successes and position ourselves well for continued growth
  • Identify and attend trade shows and product demonstrations to build our brand and reach new leads
  • Prepare monthly sales reports
  • Deepen relationships with key account buyers and supporting teams
  • Identify and assist in executing key market and/or customer sampling programs

Skills and Experiences

  • Track record of exceptional, above-market profitable sales growth
  • Demonstrated success managing key accounts to year-over-year growth
  • National and natural brand experience - frozen category experience strongly preferred
  • Personal passion for the natural and organic food industry
  • Established relationships and demonstrated success working with key natural and grocery retail accounts and with the leading brokers and distributors (UNFI, KeHE, etc.) servicing these channels
  • Fluent in pricing, trade marketing and category management
  • Able to prepare for and lead strategic, collaborative headquarter sales calls
  • Proficient in using industry sales data tools (spins, nielsen, retailer portals) and trade analytics to glean meaningful insights and inform action
  • Self-directed with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills including advanced capabilities in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Adaptable and resourceful with a pioneering spirit - early stage brand building experience preferred

  • Flexibility to travel as required (~50%)
