Position Description

The Operations Manager works closely with the Brewmaster, Head Brewer, Packaging Manager, Sales Manager and Business Manager. This job is the link between all of these departments. Once beer orders have been received, the Operations Manager is to create brewing and packaging plans based on these orders, as well as oversee shipping to appropriate destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Organization and Planning

  • Analyze sales orders.  Using these orders, create weekly production schedules (three weeks in advance)

  • Work with Head Brewer and Packaging Manager to ensure beer orders are filled each week

  • Head of all supply chain orders including brewing, packaging, safety and shipping supplies

  • Maintain reasonable inventories of all supplies while managing cash flow needs of the company; To be measured by not having disruption in production due to lack of supplies

  • Work with Sales Manager and address long term needs

Warehouse and Packaging

  • Responsible for all beer after packaging

  • Manage Warehouse Supervisor and all warehouse staff

  • Maintain a good flow of beer from brewery to shipping warehouse

Software and Data Entry

  • Ensure that all orders are correct in OBEER by working with Sales Manager and allocate available beers each week

  • Work with the Business Manager to ensure that all AP and AR invoices are properly entered into OBEER for payment or receiving

  • Make sure that all beer is correctly shipped out of the brewery

  • Prepare TTB and State reporting as required and submit on time

  • Use OBEER to its full potential including inventory tracking and forecasting

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of an ERP based tracking program a key desirable skill, preferably Orchestrated beer

  • Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude

  • Good interpersonal skills and ‘got your back’ team attitude

  • Ability to think outside the box and propose new ideas

  • Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer

  • Willingness to regularly work during evenings and weekends and more than 40 hours per week

  • Excellent organizational skills- detail oriented & able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently

  • Valid Driver License with a good driving record

Job Requirements

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs

  • Able to regularly lift/carry 50 pounds

  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with sometimes slippery floors

  • Able to work in varying degrees of temperatures that is typical for a retail food industry

  • Floor surface may vary from hard tiled floor or concrete to carpet

  • Ability to tolerate a high-level work pace that is typical for a retail food industry

  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud

  • Able to work 6-8 hours on your feet
