POSITION SUMMARY: This dynamic entry-level position will supervise the taproom staff and report directly to the Events Director. The Hospitality Manager will work closely with marketing, finance and production staff. The position will work on the upkeep of the taproom, interact with customers, tend the bar, and make retail sales during open taproom hours. Furthermore, this role will lead exciting tours for the public as well as plan and execute private/corporate events and functions. The tours are intended to educate patrons on DTR’s brewing and packaging process, the variety of quality products that our brewery produces, and on the craft beer industry in general. The Hospitality Manager is the face of the taproom, and will be expected to serve as a steward of the Down The Road brand, upholding the values we strive to reach every day.


TYPE: This is a full-time position (including evening and weekend hours)


  • Supervising taproom staff

  • Strategic taproom planning and organization (inventory, sales and budgeting)

  • Completing weekly and monthly inventory tasks for production team

  • Communicating beer and merchandise needs for inventory

  • Maintaining taproom appearance including stocking shelves and light cleaning

  • Conducting fun and energetic tours of the brewery

  • Executing a variety of events

  • Acting as a Brand Ambassador by engaging customers, booking group events, etc.

  • Develop a taproom experience designed to increase beer sales

  • Become an expert at the different aspect and styles of DTR’s beer offerings to educate customers and staffers

  • Engage with customers daily to create a memorable experience

  • Maintain tasting room equipment to include, clean draft lines etc.
    Other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Bar/Restaurant management experience preferred

  • Previous brewery or craft beer experience preferred

  • Love Beer!


  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the public

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multitask

  • The ability to think on your feet and adapt to requests and changes

  • Attention to detail

  • Time management and schedule management

  • Knowledge of and interest in the craft beer industry

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and do physically demanding work is required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.

  • Willingness to work events on evenings and weekends is required.
