Ginger’s Revenge is a craft brewery in Asheville, NC, specializing in the production of alcoholic ginger beer. Now in our second year of operations, we are on track to produce 750-1,000 barrels in 2018 and expect that number to increase steadily over the next several years.

As such, we are looking for growth-minded individual to join and lead our production team. In particular we are looking for someone with leadership experience, excellent work ethic, strong problem-solving skills, a desire to learn, and a positive attitude. We envision this person learning our product and processes the first 3-6 months, and then tackling new challenges and responsibilities after achieving certain milestones. This person will work directly with our CEO and Co-Founder.

Key duties and responsibilities include supervising and executing the following production activities:

  • Brewing on a 15 bbl system

  • Managing fermentation

  • Filtering (lenticular and/or bag filter experience a plus!)

  • Managing carbonation levels

  • Packaging (kegging and bottling)

  • Troubleshooting any issues in fermentation, equipment, filtration, or processes

  • Scaling production and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency

  • Inventory management

  • Logging all production steps in physical and digital records (Ekos experience a plus!)

  • Assist with developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures and safety standards

  • Communicating clearly with other production team members

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment

  • Operating equipment in a safe manner

Additional operational duties include working with the CEO to:
  • Create weekly production and staffing schedules

  • Manage schedule changes and oversee all communication with team members that the changes might affect

  • Create daily task lists for production staff

  • Ensure all scheduled activities are completed and confirmed

  • Assist in raw material ordering and inventory management as needed

  • Work to discover new ways of optimizing production activities and planning

Required skills and experience:
  • College degree

  • At least four years professional beverage production experience

  • Strong mechanical and electrical abilities and operational understanding of all brewery processes

  • High level of attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bottling experience

  • Filtration experience

  • Strong math skills

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred skills and experience:
  • 2 or 4 year brewing/fermentation degree

  • Management/leadership experience

Physical requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (lifting up to 55 pounds, safely maneuvering up to 165 pounds)

  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
