Timberyard Brewing Co. is getting ready to kick into full swing. Major construction is almost wrapped up, and we’re looking to hire a remarkable team member to help us on our mission to make world class beer.

We need someone to help us finish up some odds and ends to get the brewhouse fully operational, then assist with the actual beer-making process once we’re up and running. This role is extremely demanding, and we will expect you to work very hard, to show a strong passion for beer, and to learn quickly.

We’re looking for someone that is extremely adaptable, as we’re a small, rapidly growing business and every week is going to bring a new set of challenges.

The Assistant Brewer is a full time,  hourly brewery team member who will perform all aspects of beer production. They work closely to ensure consistent, repeatable results by monitoring the equipment, temperatures, specific gravity, and other measurements during the brew process.


  • Clean brewing equipment, kegs, brewhouse
  • Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning
  • Carry heavy bags of raw materials (grain, hops)
  • Operate the brewhouse and maintain temperatures and levels during brew
  • Use the forklift to transport materials and organize inventory
  • Help fix and maintain brewing and tap equipment
  • Help our efforts to calculate and reduce energy consumption
  • Attend brewhouse meetings to improve efficiency
  • Anything else that is needed! (e.g. clean toilets, mop floors, pull nails from old boards, etc….)

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 year experience in a production brewery


  • Must be of legal drinking age (21+)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Eager to learn, listen, and ask questions
  • Positive attitude and amiable personality
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to support other teams
  • Clear written/verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:
Working in a production brewhouse is a very labor intensive job:

  • Hot, cold, steamy, foggy, wet conditions
  • Loud noise (up to 90db)
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, hot water, and pressurized vessels
  • Exposure to heavy machinery and moving parts
  • Wet floors
  • Occasional entry into confined spaces
  • Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing
  • Seeing, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling
  • Lifting up to 55 pounds multiple times on a daily basis
  • Pushing up to 170 pounds multiple times on a daily basis
