As our Director of Operations, you will be part of a hands-on team and deliver strategic operational leadership across all aspects of production process planning and production team building, including raw material sourcing, supply chain/inventory management, quality assurance, and order fulfillment/logistics. You will report directly to the founding team, and your direct reports will include the Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. Specific functions include:

  • Providing leadership to optimize productivity, encourage innovative ideas, and build the company culture

  • Engage with cross functional teams involving finance and sales to create accurate forecasts and demand planning to drive operational efficiency that delivers against plans

  • Ensure continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding operational capabilities

  • Ensure adherence to food safety and facility compliance while meeting operational goals and continuously improving production

  • Managing vendor relationships, raw material suppliers and freight providers, building solid partnerships while negotiating pricing and services in line with company goals

  • Lead all certification processes and maintain requirements for our various facility and product certifications (including: SQF, USDA Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO Project, etc.)

  • Analyze performance to identify operational opportunities, trends, and cost-saving improvements

  • Build and nurture team environment under quickly evolving growth curve which fosters individual growth and opportunity in alignment with the company culture

Our Ideal Candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years managing fulfillment and production operations in a food manufacturing (preferably a USDA or FDA approved) facility.

  • Proven success managing teams in a fast-growth organization--our employee-centric, mission-driven culture is a critical part of our success

  • Launched and commercialized new products and processes working with equipment vendors on startups of new equipment

  • Comprehensive background in managing the supply chain from end to end, including third-party/Co-Packer relationships, production, shipping, receiving, and warehousing

  • Inventory control management with background in building/improving warehouse management or inventory tracking systems

  • Effective project management skills, well-versed in Demand Planning that is integrated with Sales Forecasts/ERP Software

  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures within the food manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of current FSMA regulations and experience w/ third-party certifications

  • Team-oriented: you have a record of leading cross-functional teams and cultivating collaborative partnerships, from the senior leadership team to warehouse and production staff

  • Strategic: you can recognize and resolve situations that are ambiguous or challenging by identifying and evaluating alternatives, solving complex problems and providing contingency plans

  • Customer-focused! You are all about the customer and strive to deliver an amazing product

The Director of Operations will receive market compensation, including salary, an annual bonus opportunity and potential for participation in an equity incentive based on performance.
