As Regional Sales Manager, you will report directly to the Founder and CEO.

The Role

The Regional Sales Manager is the face of Fort Point Beer Company. Equal parts brand ambassador, field marketer, salesperson, mentor, and problem solver, this high-level, dynamic role is a critical component to the success of the company. On any given day, you could find yourself presenting beer to a prospective account, meeting a bar owner to mend a frayed relationship, have coffee with a sales rep to fine tune a specific sales strategy, join our creative team to discuss details for an upcoming beer release event, and finish the day at a happy hour to celebrate a sales success with your team.  Every day will be different, but the goal is always the same: to empower your team to succeed and thrive, both personally and professionally. The South Bay RSM will be covering a regional area and managing an existing team of five that spans San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and the north end of Monterey counties.  The East Bay RSM will be covering a regional area and managing a team of five that spans Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties. 


The Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all sales & field marketing activity within a given region.

  • Responsible for the management of all Sales Representatives within a given region.

  • Responsible for determining account & prospect lists.

  • Manage a team of Sales Reps and help them meet and exceed our goals.

  • Cultivate a team spirit and culture that is aligned with our Core Values.

  • Coach Sales Reps in their daily sales activity including, but not limited to, new business prospecting, organization, outbound calling, CRM management, account troubleshooting, time management, and policy adherence.

  • Manage 20-40 key accounts within the region.

  • Meet and exceed weekly, period and quarterly goals.

  • Monitor sales reports closely, track progress and provide feedback & assistance if necessary.

  • Work with Creative, Events & Marketing staff to manage field marketing within the region:

    • Maintain an annual events calendar consisting of all festivals & events within the region.

    • Determine festival participation.

    • Manage field marketing budget to be shared across the region.

    • Plan, produce and execute account level events with sales reps.

    • Work with creative team to plan event promotions, social media or otherwise.

  • Work with AR team to roll out effective training and policies.

  • Work with Logistics team to roll out efficient and effective delivery strategies.

  • Manage inventory: to include forecasts, allocations, and monthly goals.

  • Be responsible for the selection, onboarding, training, and development of new and existing sales representatives.

  • Be responsible for ensuring execution of chain programming and distribution at retailer and wholesaler level.
