Job Summary:

Develops, implements, and directs policies, systems, and processes that manage inventory of finished goods and raw materials. Controls the quality and costs of all transportation activity. Maintain outside warehousing and storage facilities as required.


Provides leadership to promote cost-effective and service-oriented warehouse and transportation operations. Develops methods to meet distribution service level goals. Maintain effective working relationships with all departments to ensure timely delivery on inbound and outbound shipments. Must promote the Continuous Improvement philosophy.


  • Establish total staffing requirements and shift allocation.
  • Monitor labor efficiency and make necessary adjustments. Develop tools to assist in this process.
  • Monitor plant and ground security.
  • Negotiate and evaluate third-party logistics and carrier agreements. Manage, evaluate, and report carrier service levels.
  • Approve all transportation invoices.
  • Supervise outside storage.
  • Source, evaluate, and purchase material handling equipment.
  • Maintain the Warehouse in inspection ready condition. Ensure compliance with GMP’s.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Serve on committees and teams as required.
  • Effectively manage the Warehouse staff and Teammates through Area Managers.
  •  Encourage safe work practices.
  • Participate in project activities with other departments and divisions as needed.
  • Develop capital and operating budgets for the Warehouse. Effectively manage department costs through the OF&R budgeting process.
  • Enhances growth and development of department personnel by providing opportunities for educational programs and training. 
  •  Communicate via telephone and email with internal and external customers. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Work Environment:

    Position requires an energetic person with excellent human relations skills. Must be an excellent communicator and motivated to obtain results. Four year college degree required, along with five to seven years appropriate work experience. Must be able to work under pressure and deal with several issues at a time. Requires the ability to work with all levels of staff. Travel to other plants and suppliers as needed. Must be able to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form. Must be able to access, input, and retrieve information form a computer. Microsoft Word and Excel skills essential.
