This position is responsible for the organization and execution of all Long Trail, Otter Creek, and Shed Brewery retail chain management activity, primarily in the New England market with some nationally based chain calls out market. This is a full-time position requiring the ideal candidate to live in central New England for ease of travel.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Direct and manage all brand management, authorization, and promotional activities for retail chain stores including Supermarket, C-Stores, Drug, Club, and Specialty accounts.
  • Develop PMP / Post schedule for each chain on annualized basis
  • Present new items twice per year to Chain Category Managers to obtain authorizations in store shelf sets and planograms.
  • Work with Region Managers & Sales Directors on execution of display and brand priority execution.
  • Collaborate in regular planning with Marketing Director on Brand Calendar, innovation, and marketing programs.
  • Lead quarterly chain sales meetings with internal team to track progress and identify priorities by chain and channel

Internal Working Relationships: (Nature and Purpose of Interaction)

  • Director of Marketing: Brand development strategy and brand calendar planning
  • Sales/Marketing Teams: Execution of chain sets, PMP, and display features

External Working Relationships:

  • Distributor Chain Team: Alignment of strategy for PMP, SKU authorizations, display and set execution
  • Chain Category Manager: Develop regular planning meetings to secure ad features, PMP, new distribution based on performance, and new item visibility

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate must be a seasoned professional with extensive experience in directing and leading multi format chain sales in the craft beer category. Specific understanding of category management and the ability to drive targeted goals for volume, distribution, feature, and display activity is essential. The position requires superior relationships and professionalism to represent our brands in all channels with retail and distributor partners. The candidate must also possess a track record of successful implementation of sales and brand introduction strategies across the Northeast. The position requires an individual who is highly motivated, organized, and driven to lead the chain department in a highly competitive environment.

In addition to a passion for craft beer and a fast paced sales environment, the candidate must have strong computer skills in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with syndicated data (IRI and VIP), space management, and category management is key.

Travel and Flexibility Requirement:
This position requires extensive travel. The ideal candidate must be available nights and weekends and be available for a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

B.A. Business/Marketing or equivalent experience. Solid knowledge of chain store decision-making, systems, and procedures is desired, as is knowledge and understanding of IRI and VIP reporting.
