Join our team and work for one of the largest coffee companies in North America! We're looking for a leader who will supervise a great team in our main roasting facility.

The person in this role will be in charge of the shift operations for our roasting and grinding processes.  Primary responsibilities include:
  • Establishing and executing standards of performance on production lines
  • Developing team members to execute daily business requirements to meet strategic goals
  • Verifying and ensuring line operators are properly trained and cross-trained on processing equipment
  • Managing team work schedules for efficiencies and eliminating unnecessary overtime
  • Implementing policies and procedures fairly and consistently across team members
  • Promoting teamwork and encouraging participation for setting goals, managing priorities, and executing strategies for safe, efficient, and effective plant/facility operations
  • Managing daily schedules in conjunction with coffee requirements with the Packaging and Planning groups
  • Investigating issues and expediting root cause and problem-solving between mechanics, technicians, operators, and support groups
  • Sharing information with your team, other shifts, support groups, and management
  • Working with Planner to coordinate maintenance work and preventative maintenance on roasters and grinders
  • Independently handling short and long-term solutions with mechanics, electricians, and engineers to help ensure equipment efficiencies and keep lines running
  • Establishing and maintaining full lines of communication across team, departments, shifts, and management
  • Conducting employee performance reviews and setting up action plans to increase team's "first time quality" initiatives
  • Supporting Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma for OEE improvement initiatives and performing weekly 5S audits, as well as other duties as assigned

Essential to this position are problem-solving skills, a keen ability to plan and prioritize, and a strong ability to execute against strategic initiatives. Other characteristics key to this role are:

  • Decision-making skills with an inherent ability to command, consult, gain consensus, and delegate effectively

  • BA/BS degree preferred with minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in support of a 24-7 production operation
  • Working knowledge of PC-based systems; expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direct, collaborate, gain consensus, and delegate effectively
