Reports to: Head Brewer

The Towne Park Packaging & Cellar Person is in charge of running our multiple packaging lines (kegging, bottling, sleeving machine, and canning line), while also gaining knowledge within the cellar department including fermentation, cleaning tanks and vessels, and a high adherence to our quality control and safety standards. Key factors to success in this position are: Passion for delicious beer made well, a fantastic team oriented attitude, high attention to detail, a quality control freak, love working in the beer industry and a desire for personal and professional growth. 

Job Duties

Primary focus should be to safely make beer and provide a safe working environment which allows us to work cleanly and produce great beer in an environment with minimal stress

Follow all SOPs and safety protocols

Proper personal protective equipment is required to be worn during the entire shift

Responsible for the safe operation of equipment like pipes, hoses, packaging lines, and tanks

Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and materials

Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling and reaching

Must be able to stand for the entire shift, up to ten hours

Consistently lift and carry 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 70 pounds to chest height

Consistently communicate with the production manager and brew crew as to when beers will be ready for transfer to the bright tank and ready for carb and packaging

Double check the volume of CO2 in the morning before the start of the run and adjust accordingly

Confirm that the beer is at the correct temperature and carbonation level for packaging

Run fresh sanitizer through the hard lines and prepare beer for packaging.

CIP transfer lines and transfer any beers that are scheduled and ready to the appropriate conditioning tank

Run packaging machines according to company SOPs and director from Head Brewer

Keep cold storage efficiently organized for FIFO operation

Clean all tanks that are empty, dirty, and need to be cleaned

Participate in general cleaning of the break room, bathrooms, and offices

Communicate with the management team and other Cellar persons throughout the day to keep the day organized, running on time, and able to maintain a good workflow

Contribute to improvements and processes required to gain efficiency and quality assurance in the cellar department

Completion of paperwork and in an accurate and timely manner

Complete special projects assigned by supervisors

Ability to know when to ask for help from the Production Manager or peers when needed to prevent mistakes and get the job done

Adhere to quality control guidelines to uphold excellent quality of beer and its longevity

Strive to increase workplace attitude and moral. Always be approachable

Set a good example with regard to punctuality, attendance, attitude and hygiene

Able to safely operate forklift- we can provide forklift training

Efficiently manage time

Multi-task while being detail and quality focused



Qualifications:

Must be 21 years or older
Laser focused on quality control and safety
Attention to detail
Hard worker & desire to learn
Positive, team-oriented attitude
Ability to safely & frequently move up to 170 lbs

The "It's a Plus" List:
Accredited brewing education
Experience in a production brewery or brewpub
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of brewing science
Strong recipe formulation skills
Training in quality control practices
Computer Literacy
Strong mechanical aptitude 
Ability to maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
Flexible schedule requirements, weekends and some holidays
