The Head of Distillery / Plant Manager leads the work team of Yellow Rose Distillery, managing the full business of the distillery from grain handling to bottle filling and occasionally help in commercial activities. He/she will also lead the new project to build a new distillery and increase our production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day distillery operations
  • Sourcing, acquiring and overseeing the production of seed, barley and malt for distillery operations
  • Mashing and fermenting wash for the stills
  • Pumping, distilling, cutting and proofing the whiskey
  • Creating and maintaining detailed records of production and the barrel program
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness in the production facility
  • Inspecting and maintaining the facility and equipment
  • Blending aged product to meet consistent brand standards
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Deliver the COGS per skus agreed in the strategic plans
  • Lead the Customer service function for international and Domestic business
  • Stay up to date with latest whiskey production best practices
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Commit to plant quality, safety and environment procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Global Marketing and Global Innovation team to develop new products.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Provide leadership for the project to build a new distillery and improve both the image and the quality of the brand
  • Share a trusting relationship with work group and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Take advantage of the services provided from the Company and integrate as many operations as possible in the current Company dynamics
  • Teaches staff and clients about whisky process and history
  • Collaborates with Sales/Branding/Marketing department to achieve company goals
  • Will be responsible of the P&L of the Visitors center and Events within the Distillery. The commercial offer, programs and visibility items will be decided together with the marketing team of brand.
  • Occasional travel and promotional responsibilities


  • Three to five (3-5) or more years of distillery experience required
  • Proven knowledge in whiskey elaboration
  • Planning, organizing, evaluating, and leading production in distillery
  • Successful leadership skills and/or experience
  • Familiarity with whiskey industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Continuous improvement in production
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Accredited degrees in the following subjects are not necessary but will be considered: Plant Science; Civil/Chemical Engineering; Biochemistry/Biology; Brewing/Distillation; and Agricultural Economics
