The Role

The Regional Sales Manager for the SF territory is the face of Fort Point Beer Company, managing a skilled team of six Sales Representatives that get our beer into the best bars and restaurants across our home city. Equal parts brand ambassador, field marketer, mentor, and problem solver, this dynamic leadership role is critical to executing our sales vision and goals. 
In a single day you could find yourself presenting beer to a prospective account, collaborating with the Northern California Sales Director on regional strategy, working with a Rep to fine tune a specific sales strategy, joining our Creative Team to discuss partnership strategy, and finishing the day at a happy hour to celebrate your team’s success. Each day will look different, but the goal remains the same—empower your team to succeed and thrive, both personally and professionally. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coach 6 On-Premise Sales Representatives in their daily activity including prospecting new business, Customer Relationship Management, account troubleshooting, and time management
  • Cultivate a team spirit and culture that is aligned with our core values 
  • Directly manage relationships with buyers in 20-40 key accounts in San Francisco
  • Ensure quality sales interactions at 700+ bars and restaurants in San Francisco
  • Meet or exceed weekly, period and quarterly goals
  • Work with our Logistics Team to roll out efficient and effective delivery strategies
  • Manage all sales and field marketing activity within the region
  • Work with our Creative Team to plan, produce, and execute account-level events and promotions

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Regularly conduct ride-alongs with direct reports
  • Work with Accounts Receivable Team to roll out effective policies and training 
  • Manage inventory to include forecasts, allocations, and monthly goals
  • Select, onboard, train, and develop new Sales Representatives
  • Determine account and prospect lists
  • Determine festival participation
  • Manage field marketing budget to be shared across region

Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills 

  • Excellent active listening and communication skills
  • Passion for the food & beverage scene in SF
  • Experience leading a team
  • Previous sales experience
  • Experience with CRM platform(s)
  • Valid driver’s license & clean driving record


Expected Hours of Work

  • M-F 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from our downtown SF office and out in the field
  • Frequent attendance at night and weekend events
  • Occasional travel to our brewery and distribution offices as well as sales territories
