Looking for a career in the Craft Beverage Industry?  Stem Ciders is expanding its team and is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking individual to fill the position of Senior Accountant.  The Senior Accountant has overall responsibility for daily accounting of transactions and is responsible for performing the month end close in an accurate and timely manner. The position is full-time, and will be offered a competitive compensation package including health insurance, company matched 401(k) and paid time off.  At a minimum, candidates must possess the skills below and be able to thrive in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment.

Founded in 2013 by Eric Foster and Phil Kao, two entrepreneurs with a deep appreciation for craft, and a strong commitment to reviving the cider tradition, Stem produces cider founded on three main principles: quality, style, and tradition.

The RiNo cider house doors opened in January of 2014 with three ciders on tap and a mission to share the cider traditions that our founders know and love. With the addition of a primary production facility and restaurant, Acreage, in Lafayette, Colorado as well as restaurant and bottle shop, The Northern Spy, Stem Ciders continues to grow nationally with wholesale and retail focus.


  • Manage all accounting operations including cash receipts and disbursements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and accruals, inventory, fixed assets and revenue recognition for multiple entities

  • Manage purchasing policies and procedures

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements on a monthly basis

  • Enforce standard accounting policies and procedures of the organization

  • Perform an efficient month-end close process

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts

  • Calculate variances from the budget and identify and analyze significant differences

  • Prepare sales and use tax returns for applicable jurisdictions

  • Track and report key financial metrics

  • Assist CPA firm with annual review of financial statements

  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings



  • Strong operational accounting skills, financial skills and GAAP knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to assess, develop, enhance and implement accounting/finance policies, procedures and controls

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills

  • Strong work ethic and proactive attitude

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Entrepreneurial personality

  • Experience with Quickbooks is highly desired

  • Experience with inventory management software is highly desired



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA preferred

  • Six Sigma preferred
