The Role

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who loves connecting with people. While this role is primarily charged with securing and managing accounts, Fort Point Beer Company also encourages our small, agile team to develop innovative new projects on behalf of a growing brewery within a $100 billion industry. Be the face of our brand at events, close new accounts, maintain/expand business with existing account base, place orders, assist in A/R collection and other sales/marketing initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Build, cultivate, and manage a comprehensive sales territory of on and off-premise accounts in a territory within the Los Angeles metro area 
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of current accounts, maximizing opportunities within an existing account base
  • Achieve revenue and sales goals through new business opportunities and increased current account sales
  • Ensure account and customer satisfaction through friendly service and ongoing communication
  • Deliver beer on a one-off or 11th hour basis
  • Execute on-site tastings or staff trainings at accounts that encourage it
  • Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to keep accounts current

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent sales background with solid understanding of company selling procedures
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • Strong communication skills: listening, speaking, and writing
  • Capable of seeking out new ideas, exhibiting initiative, and being proactive
  • Excellent skills negotiation and influence
  • Strong competitive intelligence within the marketplace
  • Previous experience in the retail beverage world
  • Previous outside sales experience
  • Must have a California Driver’s license, a personal vehicle, and have auto insurance for that vehicle

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 35lbs on a regular basis
  • Must be able to push, pull, and manipulate up to 165lbs occasionally

Travel

  • Frequent travel within assigned territory

Expected Hours of Work

  • Generally M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 
  • Frequent attendance at night and weekend events and occasional early mornings 
  • Occasional team meetings
