Who We Are:

Artifact Cider Project makes cider for the new Northeast. Using apples from our region, we produce craft ciders that value reinvention—respecting tradition, but refusing to let it limit us.

Position Overview:

We just opened our new production facility in Florence, MA and are excited to open our taproom this Summer. We're looking for a Cellar Assistant to bridge the gap between cider production and our taproom. This full time position would be roughly split as 28 hours spent in cider production (M-W), 12 hours spent directly engaging and serving our customers in our taproom (T-F).



  • Help build and maintain a safe and inviting environment in the taproom

  • Convey passion and knowledge of craft cider, with the ability to educate customers on the cidermaking process, history in the region, apple varietals, etc.

  • Engage visitors with cider samples and drive sales of packaged to-go options and merchandise when appropriate

  • Conduct cash handling and sales through POS inventory system

  • Maintain a clean, safe, focused, and productive environment on a daily basis in addition to being a lead brand ambassador

  • Stock taproom cooler with needed inventory and maintain accurate inventory counts

  • Maintain draft system and address and resolve any draft issues


  • Co-Lead packaging operations with Cidermaker

  • Collaborate with Cidermaker on cellar activities (cleaning, transfers, filtration, testing, etc)

  • Maintain and communicate cider inventory to sales teams

  • Logistics: receive and load all incoming/outgoing shipments, manage dock hours

  • Maintain facility & equipment, manage PMs, upgrades, and repairs

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workplace meeting internal and OSHA standards

  • Perform occasional deliveries as needed locally 


  • Bachelor's degree, preferred but not required

  • 2+ years established operations and/or cellar experience

  • Forklift certified

  • Ability to easily carry heavy loads (~50lbs)

  • Basic knowledge of cellar operations (pumps, valves, fittings, etc)

  • Basic knowledge of the cidermaking process

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing

  • Passion for craft cider, wine, and/or craft beer industry

  • Established track record of organization, diligence, and good attitude
