Regional Sales Manager, East

Position Location: East Coast, near major airport

Reports to Director of Sales

OCHO Candy provides a superior alternative to traditional candy, leading the way in the Organic and Fair Trade candy segment. Based in West Oakland, the Company prides itself on manufacturing its own candy from batch-made centers through sophisticated automated production.

 

Position Description

OCHO Candy is seeking a Regional Sales Manager, East, who would be responsible for building customer relationships and achieving the sales/gross profit budget, new distribution targets, trade spend management, and forecasting goals by sales broker or direct business. This includes all customer communication and broker management for the assigned region. 

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop annual business plans based on channel and retailer
  • Use data to identify opportunities and build the brand by executing effective merchandising, assortment, pricing, and category plans
  • Create efficient and effective promotions and conduct post promotional analysis and adjust as needed that deliver net sales targets
  • Manage trade spend and consumer promotion dollars with key accounts to ensure plans are in place and a good ROI is delivered 
  • Spend trade funds within budget and ensure efficiency through ROI analysis 
  • Ensure accurate monthly forecast for all promotional and non-promotional volumes 
  • Direct account and broker management based on annual metrics
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows, broker meetings: travel up to 50% of time

 

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS required
  • 5+ years of CPG direct account management, trade marketing and broker management
  • Strong planning skills including forecasting and trade promotion
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use consumption data
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Experience with forecasting software and promotional planning/deduction management systems 
  • Strong analytical and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) 
  • Exhibit a high level of focus and account penetration using sophisticated analysis and presentation skills

Compensation is commensurate with experience. We pay at market rate using market reporting from Payscale. We cover employee health insurance at 80%, offer 401K enrollment (no matching yet), 11 paid holidays, 5 days vacation and 9 sick days per year, and an equity stake in the company. This is a growing role at a fast-paced and growing company with ample room to grow, and lots of experience to gain. There's never a bad day in candy!
