Summary: Sweet Reason Beverage Co. is looking for a Regional Sales Representative to support the New York Metro area. This person will work alongside the local distributor partners, driving distribution for Sweet Reason within retail accounts in a pre-assigned territory. This is a travel- focused sales role requiring travel 80% of the time to local retailer locations in the metro area. The Regional Sales Representative will focus on opening new accounts and supporting current accounts, to ensure that Sweet Reason is selling well and stores are re-ordering product frequently. This person must be comfortable working independently. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Sell into new retail accounts (bodegas, grocery, natural) in the New York Metro Area
  • Manage in-store execution at current accounts 
    • Point of Sale (POS) materials – merchandise with POS materials where possible
    • Price – manage price to ensure consistency at RSP of $5.99
    • Placement on shelf – ensure Sweet Reason is ideally located on shelf
    • Promos – use pre-approved promos to sell-in to account and solicit re-orders
  • Work with distributors and brokers to achieve sales goals and problem-solve issues
  • Analyze sales data (purchasing patterns, turns, number of accounts, SKU performance, etc.) and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); report to team on a weekly basis
  • Solicit feedback from customers / consumers and communicate with rest of team
  • Maintain open communication with team, including recapping and follow-ups
  • Conduct sampling / demos as needed 

Qualifications: 

  • University education 
  • 1-2 years sales experience 
  • Ideally food and beverage or health / wellness experience (although not imperative) 
  • Passion for the product and the company 
  • Good analytical skills 
  • Ability to stay organized and manage 100+ relationships 
  • Hard-working and independently driven 
  • Good EQ skills / ability to form relationships with people 
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity of a start-up 
  • Ability to drive and commute around NYC and surrounding metro area 

What success looks like: 

  • 30 Days:
    • Strong grasp of company, brand and sales goals
    • Aligned on sales plan and allocated budget
    • Form relationship with distributor(s)
    • Executing against sales goals (number of doors, merchandising, store visits, demos, etc.)
    • Collecting feedback from consumers / customers 
  • First Quarter:
    • On track with sales goals
    • Great relationship with distributor(s)
    • Strong relationships with key strategic accounts (current and future)
    • Strong communication with rest of team 
  • First Year:
    • Met or exceeded all sales goals
    • Instrumental in Sweet Reason’s success as #1 CBD beverage brand in NYC
    • Knowledgeable and connected in NYC’s food, health and wellness community
    • Demonstrated passion for the brand and ability to sell in this category
