Sales Manager (Brewing Ingredients)

Location: Portland, OR

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Director


The Sales Manager will be the face of outside sales in the Western United States with the task of cultivating new relationships and strengthening existing ones. This position will also need to provide after sales support and will work closely with finance, administration, and operational teams to ensure each sale/order is accurate from start to finish. This position will require approximately 50% office time and 50% travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a sales and marketing plan that expands company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence
  • Utilize brewing industry knowledge and experience in order to more easily connect with customers and assist with their supply needs
  • Visit regional clients to maintain relationships with existing customers and generate opportunities with new ones
  • Receive orders directly from customers and verify accuracy against company resources to include but not limited to sales plans, contract databases, customer order history and the company’s prevailing sales strategy
  • Work with team management to maintain current price lists and re-evaluate price points to accelerate stock turnover and ensure relevance in times of market fluctuations
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars
  • Perform administrative and office support activities, as needed
  • Perform other duties as required to support these processes


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and sales related software 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Highly proficient on Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP software (SAP BBD)
  • Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce) systems and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Work with minimal supervision 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Brewing industry knowledge and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred (or relevant experience)
  • Ability to maintain a mature, problem solving attitude in all situations
