Merchandising Manager

Develop and manage the division’s Merchandising Team in order to:

  • Maximize retail visibility and presentation of Atlas’ brands
  • Establish and maintain Atlas’ Retail Standard Expectations of Best-In-Class service
  • Maximize employee retention / minimize turnover
  • Develop and maintain a fast-paced, high energy, efficient merchandising team

 Responsibilities

  • Serve as hiring manager for merchandising team
  • Develop and adhere to formal on-boarding schedule for new hires
  • Manage and train merchandising team
  • Establish documented Atlas’ retail standards; communicate to team and hold them accountable to them
  • Improve visibility of Atlas’ portfolio in retail accounts
  • Assist in routing of merchandisers based on retail support needs
  • Seek out and execute on merchandising opportunities across the Atlas customer base
  • Work with merchandising team, including formal periodic/scheduled full day ride-with training session in field
  • Establish formal written feedback/development form to immediately follow each ride-with
  • Develop initiatives based on opportunities to drive visibility at retail
  • Hold periodic meetings with full merchandising team, at least monthly
  • Maintain constant communication between team, operations, and POS coordinator
  • Conduct written performance reviews of each team member, at least annually
  • Coordinate special events, as needed
  • Establish and enforce clean, neat, and orderly appearance and condition of all merchandising vehicles, including periodic fleet inspections (at least twice monthly)
    • Other duties as needed to assist the sales team and other departments to meet customer needs

     

    Qualifications

    ü  Prior merchandising experience in grocery or beverage distribution required

    ü  Experience managing and scheduling a workforce preferred

    ü  Experience in designing and maintaining performance and retail standard expectations

    ü  Ability to adapt to a changing and challenging retail environment

    ü  Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends, when needed

    ü  Ability to identify strengths and opportunities of team, and hold team member accountable for performance

    ü  Proven computer skills, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, iOS

    ü  Able to pull, push, and lift up to 75 lbs.

    ü  Must have strong/clean driving record
