3 Stars Brewing Company is an award winning craft brewery with a taproom and brand new event space located in Washington, DC.  We pride ourselves on giving people unique drinking experiences by creating beverages with bold flavors and ingredients not typically available from most brewers.  Over the past several years we’ve added onsite event hosting capabilities delivering an environment with sought after food and drink and an entertaining vibe that keeps people coming back week after week.

We’re seeking an Event Director to join our team and help fill our new 5,000 sqft event space located within our brewery at 6400 Chillum Place NW, DC. 

The Event Director is responsible for coordinating sales, planning, execution and payments for all onsite events with the help of our onsite events team managed by our Tap Room and Beer Hall Manager.  This includes but is not limited to Weddings, dinners, charity events, private parties, business meetings and beer festivals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for growing 3 Stars’ onsite event business
  • Strategically plan and forecast quarterly sales goals
  • Proactively solicit new business opportunities by conducting effective sales calls to new and existing clients
  • Negotiate and close event contracts
  • Develop relationships with local event planners to improve awareness of new venue
  • Submit weekly recap of progress to management team
  • Prepare proposals for potential guests handling inquiries in a timely professional manner, ensuring all requests are addressed
  • Assist on premise team with management of ongoing onsite events on an as needed basis
  • Interface with Tap Room and Beer Hall staff to deliver world class events
  • Perform follow up after events with clients after scheduled functions to ensure their satisfaction and to solicit follow-on business
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Minimum one year experience in full-cycle event sales, planning and execution or other relevant experience in the hospitality industry
  • Self-managing, well organized person with strong multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Events management, communications or related field of study a plus
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate successful event execution
  • Ability to lead and relate to staff and work with guests in a positive, effective manner
  • Ability to work in fast paced, quickly changing environment with a cool head

Pay Rate:

  • Salary plus commission commensurate with experience
  • Health insurance provided 100% for candidate with co-pay for spouse or immediate family
  • 2 weeks paid time off after probationary period
