We are currently recruiting for a high energy, passionate craft beer enthusiast to join our team as the Sales Specialist based in the Seattle, WA area!  The Sales Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Market Manager in achieving sales targets for the Seattle Market.  S/he will be expected to build exceptional relationships with accounts, distributors and fellow co-owners.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Responsible for successful execution of account calls with key opportunity on and off premise accounts
  • Successfully identify and pursue opportunities
  • Establish and nurture customer (distributor, retail account & end customer) relationships
  • On and off premise sales responsibility
  • Preplan and execute crew drives with distributors in key areas
  • Conduct regular distributor work with to identify sales opportunities and secure non-buys
  • Brewery and brand specific customer (distributor, retail account & end consumer) education of Deschutes' brand positioning, product quality, product points of difference, brand innovation, profitability, segment leadership and core values
  • Lead and motivate distributor team members
  • Enthusiastically represent Brewery at festivals and special events
  • Organize and manage on-premise promotions
  • Organize and manage off premise tastings
  • Assist with launching new brands
  • Responsible for managing POS for accounts
  • Ensure account standards are met
  • Manage inventory with distributors
  • Responsible for achieving all outlined sales goals
  • Monitor distributor volume sales and brand distribution goals by brand/business unit
  • Responsible for tracking and managing budget

What You'll Need to be Successful:

  • A bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience
  • At least one of year experience in adult beverage sales preferred
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • High organization and time management skills
  • Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills
  • Exceptional team player
  • Passion for the craft beer industry
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout market
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, including motor vehicle record
