Sales Director Job Summary

We are a leading producer and distributor of quality, delicious, non-genetically modified seeds, grains and oils, headquartered in metro NYC.  We are currently seeking a Sales Director to be based on the East Coast to develop and implement an effective sales strategy to regional retailers, distributors and specialty stores. In this role the Sales Director will be responsible for planning and executing sales, marketing and product development programs to meet co-developed and pre-determined targets to increase company market share with regional retailers, distributors and specialty stores.  Additional responsibilities will be to assist in launching and to secure placement of new products into existing and new accounts to drive organic growth.  Working closely with independent brokers to develop programs and activities to secure product placement and improved ACV.


  • Create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve business objectives
  • Monitor competitors’ products, including relevant sales and marketing data
  • Assist in the development of an operating budget for your territory that meets business goals
  • Use available data and portals to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals working with the company sales coordinator to ensure customer fill rates and on-time deliveries are met and voids are filled and distribution is maximized.
  • Work with marketing to complete market research and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key customers, including negotiating and closing on new and replacement product listings
  • Be adept in finding new specialty distribution for our products


  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration or Marketing
  • Minimum five years’ experience in consumer products sales  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members at every level of the organization
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Technology requirements - Microsoft Office
  • Travel required
